By the end of June, we seemed to have turned the corner on the COVID virus and felt free to engage in activities without masks, particularly outside. Unfortunately, a new surge is underway. Along with you, I am discouraged and disappointed. Let’s hold onto the good news…vaccinations prevent serious illness and do allow us to gather in-person. We are a community seeking God, caring for friend and stranger, and enriching each other’s lives. We can do all of these activities in-person in a safe and welcoming way, mindful of those who are not able to be vaccinated.
We will continue with mask-wearing and social distancing at all indoor worship services and will, once again, mask and social distance for all indoor activities. All Staff members are following these protocols throughout the week. For now, indoor events will not include food or drinks.
For outdoor worship and programming, masks are required for unvaccinated individuals and strongly recommended for vaccinated individuals, providing an additional level of safety for those who are unable to be vaccinated.
One schedule change…. weather permitting, the 9:00 a.m. service will continue outdoors through September, again, to be welcoming to all while we continue to live with this contagious virus.
I’ve so enjoyed being in-person with you this summer through worship and programming. I look forward to kicking off our new program year: Strength for Today, Bright Hope for Tomorrow. You are in my heart and prayers.
