College Lenten Reflection
Each day throughout Lent and Easter, college students are invited to a spiritual reflection and discussion of Dante Alighieri’s "The Divine Comedy." "La Divina Commedia (Inferno, Purgatorio e Paradiso)" is a masterpiece of Western literature and is known for its deep spiritual and socio-political dimensions. As a story of Dante’s own journey, it reflects our own journey through the Lent and Easter seasons.
Meditations on portions of the work will be posted by the Rev. Matt Humm, St. Paul’s Youth Minister, on his blog – which may be used as a forum for discussion and further study. Links to the portions of "The Divine Comedy" will be provided, although they are not necessary for comment—reference material and commentary links will also be provided.
This blog offers a wonderful way to observe the season, gain spiritual perspective amid coursework, and stay connected to
your faith community. Students, e-mail your correct address to Allison Paetz.
Young Adult Group: Fall 2009
The St. Paul’s Young Adult Group is a newly formed social group for young adults between the ages of 18 and 29. The group will meet on the first and third Sundays at noon in the Sanders Room. All are welcome to come and participate in engaging activities and stimulating discussion geared towards both continuing old relationships and discovering new ones. If you have any questions, please contact Madeleine Brondel.
College Ministry
St. Paul’s reaches out to and support college students around the world through our ministry of electronic bible studies during Advent and Lent. We send care packages with notes from St. Paul’s parishioners. One week of our Harlan Mission Trips is reserved for our college students. If you would like to be included in a Bible Study, or if you know someone who would like a care package,
e-mail Kate Gillooly, Minister for Christian Formation and Program, at kgillooly@stpauls-church.org.
