Join us for a family-friendly Ash Wednesday service, with simple music, child-led readings and prayers, the imposition of ashes, and a celebration of the Holy Eucharist. We’re never too young (or too old!) to appreciate the powerful message of God’s love and forgiveness.
Why is it important to include children in the celebration of Ash Wednesday? Because when children see the adults they love and respect marked with ashes, and they themselves are marked with ashes, they know that they belong. They are one of God’s people. And they can learn that all of us, children and adults alike, mess up and are forgiven. In a world where children are constantly reminded that they need to try harder, make better choices, excel, stand out, or be special – this is a vital, life-shaping message.
All are welcome!
